Liver Bi-opsy
Hi Has anyone had a liver bi-opsy. i am waiting on Hospital appointment for one and am a little worried. I have been of all meds for quite some time now. I had a allergic reaction to Humira and this friday nurse coming to help me with first Cimzia injection. my liver levels have been very high for some time., so they need to see whats happening with liver.
Haven't been on for some time, house move and not feeling good.

Hi Sue,
I haven't had a liver biopsy but it's quite a simple procedure so don't worry. It's done under local anaesthetic so should not be at all painful. You will be monitored closely for the first few hours afterwards and then will probably be allowed home.
Try not to worry about it and good luck with the cimzia. I've heard very good reports about cimzia, hopefully it will be THE drug for you.

I hope you don't have to wait too long for a biopsy Sue, I've not had one but did have some high liver readings on and off. YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.

I have had bad liver readings but never had a biopsy. I hope the appointment is
received quickly for you.

Please try not to worry too much about your liver - it mends itself! I'm sure its just a check.
Hope your new drug suits you.

not had one off the liver but had loads of bi sopsys for all sorts Mainley they don,t hurt once you have had a jab i not felt one yet and they are quick . guess you will have a jab then they put a little neddle thing in via a scan and i have watched someone doing a under arm one . and very tiny scars i have a few but you can,t see them .Even had one done on my face and you can,t see a thing it was took along a crease . so don,t worry about it you will be fine Christine The chocolate eating housewife ...The washer woman .....naughty lady

Thank you for your replies. Not heard anything yet but just read in our local paper they are holding all referrals till new year at local hospital. So maybe not hear anything till Jan!
Had my first cimzia injections yesterday. I couldn't get my mind over matter to work so wimped out, and asked the nurse to show hubby how to do it. Bless he had just driven back from Cambridge after doing a weeks worth of night shifts there. we had a laugh cos I told the nurse He's ex-military and when he gave me a humira injection I think he thought he was back in the field jabbing it in my leg!! anyway he coped well hardly felt a thing this time. I had 2 injects nurse suggested 1 in leg and 1 in tummy area and after trying to get out of tummy one surprised that felt better than leg although still only slight tingling. heres hoping for some life back now.

Hi Sue
Glad you got your injection!! It's MUCH less painful in the tum. I always pinch a bit of skin (or should I say fat) and it hardly even stings.

Hi Sue, Glad you've had your first Cimzia injectuons, fingers crossed it works for you. I agree with Jean, it's much less painful in the tummy, I just inject the flab!  Doreen xx

Hi Sue, Hope you are well suited to the Cimzia drug it would be good it this is the one for you. Hope you liver biopsy is nothing for you to worry about, I am sure all will be ok. Take care and look after yourself. Lorna
